John G. Hexem, MD, PhD
General PartnerDr. Hexem is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist who has retired from the active practice of anesthesia to devote his time and energy to Conscious Sedation Consulting.
After undergraduate work at Yale University he attended Medical School at the University of Cincinnati receiving the MD degree in 1979. He then went to the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Pennsylvania for residency and fellowship training in Anesthesiology, becoming Board Certified in 1987. He also received a PhD in Chemistry during 1982.
He specialized in Liver Transplantation during the eight years he spent as Assistant Professor of Anesthesia at the University of Pennsylvania. He then served as Medical Director of Anesthesia Departments in both Pennsylvania and Missouri, where he developed protocols for conscious sedation in a hospital setting.
This experience has impressed upon him the need to provide education and guidance for those physicians and dentists who are contemplating using sedation of patients during procedures performed in their offices.

Mr. Pigg received a Bachelor of Science degree from Barnes College of Nursing at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis MO. In 1993. He also attended the University of Kentucky for undergraduate studies.
